I’m sure this is not your first time of reading about #OccupyNigeria. If you are, #OccupyNigeria is a platform for we the people of Nigeria to stand/fight against the fuel subsidy removal that was announced by our president – Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the 1st day of January 2012. Please follow me on Twitter @adesojiadegbulu to know more. You should also follow #OccupyNigeria on twitter.
Please note, i and others protesting about the fuel subsidy removal are not protesting because of the removal. The removal is good but the approach is what we don’t like. It’s more than reverting the fuel price back to N65.
It’s more about removing corruption and corrupt leaders. It is more about building trust in the citizens of my dear country – Nigeria. Fuel subsidy removal is a price to pay by the elect and the citizens. It is very wrong for the masses (people of Nigeria) to be the only ones paying the price. The protest is more about cutting government wastes. I’m so glad Nigerians are well informed about this except for those who are too blind to see. As I was writing this, a friend of mine from Project Watch Nigeria said he took time to research and found out that most of the road projects in the SURE documents proposed by the federal government has been awarded before.
If you are on my side of this fight to reclaim Nigeria from the hands of corruption that has eaten deep into our system then you should know that we need to keep protesting until something happens. Protest continues until we reach a state of revolution where we have successfully delivered Nigeria and won her independence from corruption, slavery and stagnation. The truth we know shall definitely make us free.
So, please note. It’s time stock yourself up with all you need to protest until something happen for the collective good of my dear country – Nigeria. Some of the things you need to stock yourself up with are right information, access to Facebook and Twitter, friends who are change agents, strength from God, food, prayers etc. This MUST be a peaceful protest by we the unarmed forces of Nigeria. Also note that the protest is not a sprint but a marathon. We are looking at a minimum of 30 days or else something great happens before then.
At this point, i need to make public the warnings i got from God in Church today. They are as follows;
- Don’t be selfish in your demand for good governance in Nigeria. Selfishness is part of the cause of the rot we are into as a Nation.
- Stand for God or not. Make a choice if you are standing for God or not. If you choose to stand for God, stand for Him alone. No room for staying in-between. Those who stand for God will enjoy the coming days of plenty.
- Take time to learn from the actions of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. I am God that rules in the affairs of men. Nothing happens without my consent.
- Pray hard before you step out of your house any day you are going to the streets to protest. Commit your actions (protests) into my hands by faith and would grant you victory.
- Be obedient to my leading throughout your days on earth.
I believe you all will abide by the warnings above. We shall prevail. We shall overcome. God is on our side. He will fight this battles for us and we shall laugh last.
In conclusion, please pray with me using the second stanza of the Nigeria’s national anthem.
O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youths the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and truth
Great lofty height attain
To build our nation whereupon peace
And justice shall reign.
Amen
To the breaking forth of a New Nigeria.
